(Utica, MI) -- A 28-year-old Utica man has been sentenced to up to ten years in prison for causing a crash that killed a retired Army colonel. Shawn Fontyn was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to driving with a suspended license causing death and leaving the scene of a deadly accident. Authorities say 57-year-old Timothy Lynch of Washington Township, was killed after his motorcycle was struck by Fontyn's SUV at an intersection in Warren on July 17th. Fontyn fled on foot and was captured a short time later hiding in some bushes near the scene of the accident.
