Showing Held For Detroit Officer Who Died After Shooting

(Detroit, MI) -- An open funeral visitation will take place Sunday for Detroit Police Officer Patrick Hill who died last Saturday of injuries from gunshot wounds he suffered during a police shootout back in April. Hill and Sgt. Jeffrey Pacholski were both shot during the shootout with murder suspect Matthew Joseph near the intersection of Linwood and Hooker Streets. Joseph was killed in the shootout, while Sgt. Pacholski was treated and released. Detroit Police Chief James Craig says that Hill's injuries were likely the result of friendly fire.
