Mayor Gives Final Formal Speech

(Detroit, MI) -- Detroit Mayor Dave Bing gave his last formal speech as the city's leader at the Detroit Economic Club. He said it was ironic that he was speaking to the same group in the same place where he was introduced as Mayor in 2009. He told the gathering he was proud of staying the course and not quitting. The former NBA star with the Detroit Pistons and businessman said one of his main priorities when elected was to restore the citizens trust in city government. He will leave office in two weeks after not choosing to seek re-election this year.
