Deadly Fungus Threatens Bat Population

Deadly Fungus Threatens Bat Population
(Lansing, MI) -- The Michigan DNR says that a fungus that has killed bats across the country is now in the state and threatens the bat population. For the first time, white-nose-syndrome has been found in Michigan, with cases confirmed in Alpena, Dickinson and Mackinac Counties. DNR wildlife veterinarian Dr. Dan O'Brien says, "Even though we've known this disease was coming, it is a disappointing day." He says that the DNR will now shift gears and try to stop the spread of this serious disease.
