Detroit Mayor Upset By Use Of Name In Campaign
(Detroit, MI) -- Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan is asking a candidate running for Wayne County executive to stop using fliers with his name. Westland Mayor Bill Wild has been distributing fliers with Duggan's photo declaring that Wild would work with Duggan to turn around the county and Detroit. Although the literature doesn't say Duggan endorsed Wild, the Detroit mayor has reportedly taken offense. A spokesperson for Duggan says he feels the fliers are inappropriate. Duggan has announced his support for former Wayne County Sheriff and ex-Detroit Police Chief Warren Evans for the county executive seat.
