(Detroit, MI) -- A man convicted in the brutal murder of a Detroit woman has been sentenced to life behind bars. Jason Peck will spend life in prison without the possibility of parole for the stabbing death of Stacey Hightower. Authorities say the 40-year-old Peck met the 32-year-old Hightower at a party and followed her back to her apartment. Prosecutors say witnesses made several calls to 911, however the police failed to show up as the attack lasted more than 90 minutes and Hightower was stabbed more than 60 times. Peck was convicted of second degree and felony murder as well as torture on November 7th.
