Final Three Defendants Plead Guilty In Utash Beating

(Detroit, MI) -- All of the suspects in the beating of Steven Utash on Detroit's east side will be sentenced next month for assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Thirty-year-old Wonzey Saffold, 24-year-old James Davis, and 19-year-old Latrez Cummings pleaded guilty to punching or kicking the Clinton Township man, who accidentally struck a boy with his pickup truck. A charge of assault with intent to murder was dropped during yesterday's hearings. Eighteen-year-old Bruce Wimbush and a 17-year-old juvenile confessed earlier to their roles.
