Funeral Services Held For KaMiya Gross

(Detroit, MI) -- A funeral was held for a slain Inkster toddler. Mourners sang "Happy Birthday" at the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ during Saturday's services for KaMiya Gross, as the day also marked what would have been her third birthday. KaMiya was killed July 1st when she was shot in the head, at point blank range, in front of an apartment. Her 34-year-old father, Kenneth French, and 12-year-old cousin were also shot. Police believe the shooting might have been in retaliation for a shooting at an after-hours club. The toddler's murder has shaken the Inkster community and prompted the resignation of Inkster Police Chief Hilton Napoleon.
