Highland Park Police Chief Has Gun Stolen

(Highland Park, MI) -- A high-powered assault rifle has been stolen from the police chief of Highland Park. Authorities say the gun was taken from Chief Kevin Coney's 2006 Cadillac Escalade while it was parked in front of the Rise Tabernacle Church in Detroit. Investigators say Coney was inside the church between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and when he went outside he found somebody had broken into the vehicle. The incident remains under investigation.
