(Detroit, MI) -- Bond for the juvenile defendant charged in the beating of Steven Utash two weeks ago will remain 400-thousand dollars. The 16-year-old boy is the only one of the five people arrested to be charged with ethnic intimidation for the attack that left Utash in a medically induced coma until last Friday. Defense attorney Solomon Radner says his client acted in the spur of the moment, after Utash accidentally hit a ten-year-old boy with his pickup truck. All of the defendants identified as taking part in the violence on Morang Drive are charged with assault with intent to cause great bodily harm and to murder.
