Mother Files Lawsuit In Drowning Death

(Eastpointe, MI) -- A lawsuit has been filed by the mother of a student who drowned at East Detroit High School. Lakisha Swift is seeking damages stemming from the incident involving her son KeAir Swift, who drowned last November. He was in a Physical Education class with a substitute teacher and the lawsuit claims that teacher and the school were negligent in her son's death. Teacher Jonathan Sails allegedly had no lifeguard training or water safety qualifications.
