Star High School Player Hit In Face By Line Drive

(Royal Oak, MI) -- A star pitcher for Bishop Foley High School is recovering at Beaumont Hospital after being hit in the face with a line drive during a game Thursday. Senior Garrett Schilling, who is headed to Xavier University on a baseball scholarship, was throwing a no-hitter with one out to go when the line drive shattered his cheekbone. Schilling will undergo surgery to put metal plates into his cheek. He is expected to make a full recovery but is unlikely to play again this season.
